About us
Bessie's Farmhouse Foundation (BFF) is a volunteer-driven global community of animal lovers and humanitarians, united by one shared belief: every animal deserves compassion, humane treatment, and a fighting chance at a good life.
Our community
That common thread brings us together from across different backgrounds, turning strangers into a team and compassion into action.
Whether we're fostering, fundraising, rescuing, lobbying, or simply showing up when an animal needs us, we do it because we care. No animal should be left behind, and no volunteer stands alone in this mission.
The dog who started it all
BFF began with Bessie, a Rottweiler-Canaan mix born in the Dead Sea, who spent nearly 17 years as a guardian, cuddle bug, camping companion, and adventure partner.
Bessie had a way of winning over even the most dog-skeptical people, turning strangers into adopters and helping many overcome a lifelong fear of dogs. She didn't just change the lives around her, she changed hearts.
This foundation carries her legacy forward.
Our mission
Every rescue, every foster, every adoption is a small continuation of what Bessie started: showing people that animals deserve more.
What guides us
We believe love for animals means more than good intentions. It means showing up. Every rescue, foster placement, and adoption is compassion put to work.
Every animal deserves dignity, safety, and care, not as an aspiration but as a standard we hold ourselves and our community to.
We tackle the stray-population problem with humane methods that are proven to work: not quick fixes, but building toward lasting change.
